Hello MTA families!

I am Judi Woods (Ashley’s mom from Bye Bye Birdie’s older group), and I just started an Avon fundraising page for Musical Theatre Academy of Orange County. I figured we have lots of people here at MTA that use makeup, so why not use some of your purchases to benefit MTA?

If you talk to me and order here at MTA or directly from my web site, I will donate 40% of the profits to the academy. You can usually catch me here at MTA (Thursday nights and Saturday mornings) and leave me your order, or go to www.youravon.com/judiwoods and order directly there. Click on the tab “Online Events” and it will take you to the fundraiser. Enter the code MTA10 at checkout and voilà! Forty percent will go to MTA! I have a basket full of catalogs at the MTA lobby as well.

SCRIP

Major Retailers Want To Give Musical Theatre Academy Money!

We’re pleased to share some exciting news about a fundraising program for our organization. It’s called “scrip”, and it’s the fundraising program that works while you shop. Scrip is simply a word that means “substitute money” - in other words, scrip is gift cards (money cards) from national and local retailers. They’re the same gift cards that you buy at the store. Many popular retailers participate in our scrip program including JCPenney, The Gap, ARCO, Pizza Hut, Red Lobster, Souplantation, Safeway/Vons, fast food, fine dining, american express, travel, and many, many others.

You’re probably asking yourself how these stores help us raise money. It’s simple - scrip participating retailers agree to sell gift cards (money cards) to our organization at a discount. Member families like yours buy the cards for full face value, they redeem them for full face value, and MTA keeps the difference as revenue.

With summer and the holidays coming up soon…think about purchasing SCRIP from MTA to use at your grocery store when you purchase food for your regular shopping, bbq’s, parties, Thanksgiving dinner and other meals! You’d be paying the store directly, why not buy the SCRIP thru MTA and use the SCRIP at check out?! MTA accepts cash, checks, Visa and MasterCard. Purchase SCRIP to give as gifts. There is even SCRIP for See’s Candy, which you can then use to purchase the yummy candy for your holiday needs. Travel plans in the horizon? Why not purchase SCRIP for use with airlines and hotels? I like to buy SCRIP, then redeem them at the retailers when I pick out that perfect holiday gift! Don’t forget to order SCRIP for your employees as gifts, incentives, prizes, etc.

On the home page you must register first in the Members Log In box on the right side of the home page - click on “not a member? Click here”. It will take you to the Family Registration page. Complete the information then hit submit. The next page will ask you for the Enrollment Code.

You will need to use MTA’s Enrollment Code: BED15ABC11975

Submit this info and you will then be able to access the order form. There are hundreds of retailers on the on-line form! You can bring your payment into MTA along with a copy of your order, drop us an email, etc. We can take checks, visa or mastercard.

Once again thank you for supporting MTA by purchasing SCRIP. Every little bit makes a big difference.

MTA’s MACY’s performance at Shop For A Cause

Several MTA students will be performing at Macy’s Fashion Island on October 16, 2010 with their annual Shop For A Cause campaign.  Once again Macy’s has selected MTA to participate in Macy’s annual Shop For A Cause campaign to benefit non-profit organizations. This is the second year that MTA has received this opportunity to earn money to benefit our Academy and we are delighted!

We are launching our sales campaign today and it will continue until October 16th. The shopping passes are $5 each for discount savings in every Macy’s store and online at macys.com on Oct. l6, plus an entry form to win a $500 Macy’s Gift Card.

Please contact MTA if you are interested in “shopping for a cause” and would like to purchase a discount savings pass for $5.  100% of the proceeds will go to MTA.

Auction Items!

We will be holding an auction to benefit MTA’s Scholarship Fund.  Items will go on auction shortly with a final deadline of June 27, 2010.  Detailed info forthcoming…in the meantime, check out the fabulous items to be auctioned off:
